Jersey - Black Bream & Conger Eels

John teams up with his old pal and top Channel Islands skipper Dave Nuth, to do battle with a number of powerful conger eels to 50lbs, whilst highlighting the fun to be had by targeting black bream in the 2-4lbs catagory using ultra light tackle

Norway - Coalfish, Haddock & Cod

In Northern Norway, 300 miles above the Arctic Circle, John fishes the breathtaking deep water fjords with local guide Holger to catch coalfish, big haddock and cod to over 30lbs

Montauk Point N.Y. - Blue Sharks, Striped Bass & Blue Fish

John crosses the Atlantic to Montauk Point, at the top of Long Island in New York State for the fourth Brits vs Yanks Sharking Tournament. This three day event, produced lots of blue sharks to over 200lbs, with some fun fishing for big striped bass thrown in. We also meet 'Monster Man' Frank Mundus, whose battles with huge sharks are legendary.

Jersey - Bass, Bull Huss & Tope

Setting out from St Helier harbour in the Channel Islands, John fishes with skipper Dave Nuth several miles off shore for bass, bull huss into double figures and tope to over 30lbs. First they secure plenty of fresh mackerel and sand eels for bait using light weight jigs.

Norway - Cod

Fishing in spectacular scenery amongst the glaciers and fjords, John teams up with his old buddy Dave Lewis and local guide Knute, for an all night foray for huge cod in Norway's 'land of the midnight star'.

Montauk Point N.Y. - Striped Bass

John teams up with ex pat, guide and local skipper Matthew Miller, who specialises in lure and fly fishing for striped bass out of Montauk Point, at the top of Long Island in New York State. He then goes off shore to troil for 20lbs plus stripers, using parachute jigs and wire line over deep water rips.

Disc 3. Sea and Coarse Fishing in the Scottish Highlands

Oban - Common Skate

John and his daughter Lisa, fish in the saltwater lochs amidst the stunning scenery of Scotland's western highlands. Following monumental gut busting battles, they bring three giant common skate to the surface, the largest, weighing in at 190lbs.

Loch Etive - Spur Dogfish & Thornback Rays

In the beautiful Loch Etive, over 20 miles inland from Oban, John demonstrates how saltwater fishing can still be enjoyed when he joins Ronnie Campbell on his boat to catch spur dogfish and thornback rays.

Loch Awe - Pike

John, together with his guide and local expert Keith Rowe, explores the enigmatic waters of the majestic Loch Awe, Scotland's longest sheet of inland water. It is a truly wild location where red deer, ravens and ospreys are daily sightings, but it is the hard battling, tail walking, double figure pike that John and Keith have come for.

Lechlade - Brown and Rainbow Trout

Adjacent to the upper reaches of the River Thames, Lechlade Trout Fishery is explored by John during glorious spring sunshine. Farmed for its monster brown and rainbow trout, John manages to net superbly proportioned double figure specimens, providing spectacular, light tackle battles using a variety of fly patterns.

River Test - Grayling

This programme sees John long trotting for winter grayling in Hampshire's picturesque and famous River Test near Stockbridge. With new born lambs in the water meadows and buzzards overhead. John shows the delight of float fishing in fast water catching trout and exquisittely coloured grayling to over 2lbs.

River Wye - Barbel & Chub

John and h is buddy Martin Bowler use stalking, wading and ledgering tactics to catch large barbel and chub on the fast flowing and rocky upper reaches of the River Wye. Fishing in pristine conditions between Builth Wells in mid Wales down to Hereford, John and Martin treat us to stuniing scenery, beautiful freshwater fish and a plethora of wild flowers.

Milford Haven - Blue Sharks

Together with Dave Lewis, John sets out from Milford Haven in West Wales to drift on the edge of the gulf stream 30 miles out. Threi quest is to catch blue sharks and using fresh mackerel as bait, their quarry comes in thick and fast.

Homersfield Lake - Carp

Close to the River Waveney which borders Norfolk and Suffolk, John visits the beautiful, 36 acre Homersfield Lake for some breathtaking 'stalking' action with big carp. Using 'floater' tactics, John has tremendous success netting specimens close on 30lbs in the clear water.

Thailand - Catfish, Arapaima, Garfish & Pacu

John travels to Thailand and the town of Hua Hin where he fishes with his brother David, in nearby Palm Tree Lagoon. They are after giant arapaima, alligator garfish and pacu amongst an assortment of weird and wonderfully coloured freshwater species.
